What Your Free Hosting Site Won’t Tell You

Most of my clients prior signing up with me tried free web hosting. They told me they were new to hosting and not wanting to invest on paid hosting before getting to know how such hosting works, well they tried such free services.

Well most of them reverted to me that their experiences was a nightmare. Some of course had good feedback on such services, but not many as my clients one main complaint was the limitation using such free web hosting.

Well before you try out such services, let me share with you some details not mentioned or highlighted on the sites of such free hosting services.

Firstly for you to have free hosting, part of the deal is for them to insert their advertising on your website or webpages. Some using iframes or javascript.

Whatever the method, these advertisement are intrusive and shed a bad light on your image if you’re representing a company. What if a Viagra Pill ad appears in your pages which is maybe promoting kids products. It gives the visitor the impression you’re not professional.

One of the other gripe my clients told me is that, the downtime for the free hosting sites they’re on are erratic. Expect plenty of downtime and if you do have your website in an offline situation, their ticket support as I was told was horrendous.

Yes some of the free services does have good uptime, but not as guarantee by paid hosting which gives guarantee up to 99.9% most of the time or they will compensate you. It’s in the agreement.

If you’re a business looking to be found on the Internet, expect to be ranked low in search engines. Since free hosting is offered to all, it is likely that many spammers will sign up to these free accounts. Such free sites I.P. and domain are likely to be blacklisted by search engines due to the spams by these morons.

And if your site happen to be hosted on the same server as these morons, well your rankings will be really low and if the situation is much worse than it is, your site could even be omitted from the search results completed!

Earlier I talked about the limitation of free hosting. Another bad factor being hosted here is the lack of webspace and bandwidth. I’m not surprised if you find that your SQL data perhaps run out of resources or 404 errors crops up as too many people are viewing your site when in actually fact, only 3-4 are.

Well my advise save all the heartache and get paid hosting. These days shared web hosting are the most popular and it’s affordable too. It can go as low as $4.95 per month. But that low price doesn’t mean its crappy of course, you’re still getting a great deal with plenty of options to play around with the server configurations.
