Severed Cable Halts Website And Web Hosting Traffic

It is reported the FLAG FEA, SMW4, and SMW3 lines which is located near Egypt’s Alexandria cable station are severed.

Also a fault was detected on the GO submarine cable which is just 130km off the shore from Sicily.

This could mean Internet disruption. Already reports are coming out India data flow was reduced by 65 per cent.

There were also service disruptions to Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Singapore, Pakistan and Malaysia.

The cause of the disruptions is still unknown, but it suspected due to earthquake seismic activities.

It is expected international phone calls dropping and a huge degradation in the quality of local Internet web hosting until repairs are done.
