Finding Affordable Web Hosting
Posted October 30th, 2008
In my opinion, the matter of web hosting prices does not matter that much these days, as you can get dirt cheap $1 hosting per month even. Just do an online search and there are dime a dozen of such offers.
What users need to take note is the credibility and reliability of the web hosting you’re about to sign up with. Most of the time, newcomers to blogs or sites will opt for the shared web hosting.
It is the cheapest around for individuals, small and medium sized businesses. The downside you’ll be on a server that is being shared by thousands of other sites.
This is a popular choice as the price is unbeatable and anyone could afford it. Making it cheap, means that some web hosting take advantage of the situation, stuffing and clogging the server as much sites as possible.
You don’t want that, and need to weed out such companies.
To find a reliable web hosting, look for companies with independent links that show at least they have 99.5% uptime or better. This is for the reliability part.
As for credibility, go to forums and observe some of the threads. You’ll notice a pattern where user keep recommending a certain company. Nothing beats the old fashion word of mouth recommendations.
Also once finding that ‘perfect’ web hosting company, opt for longer term contract like 12 to 24 months as you’ll be discounted on the price.
